🏈🧱 FSU Lines Up Key Summer Visits in the Trenches 🧱🏈
Even in the dead period, Florida State is stacking momentum up front.
While recruits can’t visit campus right now, FSU has already locked in official visits from three priority linemen for June — a strong early signal of where the staff is focused.
🔒 Four-Star OL Jatori Williams
Former Alabama commit
Official visit set: June 12
Has visited Tallahassee multiple times, including a game last season and January Junior Day
Also planning OVs to Kentucky, Miami, and Georgia
FSU has long been viewed as a major contender
🧱 Three-Star OL Shavezz Dixon
Official visit set: June 5
Offered by FSU during January Junior Day
Close ties to the program (teammate Greg Batson is committed; blocked for RB Ousmane Kromah in HS)
Says FSU has made him feel like a priority
January visit from Mike Norvell left a strong impression
🛡️ Four-Star DL Sam Lejeune
Top-100 national prospect
Official visit set: June 12
Notre Dame momentum has cooled, leaving FSU well-positioned early
Also set to visit Mississippi State and Auburn
🧠 Big Picture
FSU is clearly emphasizing the trenches early in the summer visit calendar. Landing multiple June OVs from high-upside linemen gives the staff a real chance to set the tone before official visit season heats up.
🏈🔥 Another Top-247 RB Locks In Official Visit to FSU 🔥🏈
Florida State continues to build serious momentum on the 2027 trail, this time at running back.
Four-star Brayden Tyson (Snellville, Ga. / Brookwood) has locked in an official visit to Florida State for the weekend of June 12, giving the Seminoles another priority skill player on campus early this summer.
📊 The Profile
Top247 prospect
No. 14 RB nationally (Class of 2027)
6’0”, 235 lbs
30+ scholarship offers
📈 Production to Match
2025 season: 1,292 yards, 16 TDs on 163 carries
Career: 4,000+ rushing yards, 46 TDs
8.4 yards per carry at Georgia’s highest classification
🔁 Where FSU Stands
Offered by FSU in January 2024
Has taken 7–8 total visits to Tallahassee
At least five visits in the last year alone
Most recently attended FSU’s January Junior Day
Official visit follows a Miami OV the weekend prior
🧬 Bloodlines
Tyson is the son of former Georgia and NFL defensive lineman DeAngelo Tyson, adding pedigree to already elite production.
🧠 Big Picture
When a back of this size, production, and ranking keeps returning — and locks in a June OV — it’s a clear sign Florida State is more than just “in the mix.”
🏈🛡️ 2026 247 Portal Report Card: Defensive Backs 🛡️🏈
With the 2026 roster largely set, Florida State wrapped up a busy portal cycle at defensive back — a room that needed both stability and experience after a turbulent offseason.
📊 The Context
23 total portal additions (plus JUCOs) across the roster
DB room required at least one starter-level corner and safety
Retention mattered almost as much as additions
🧩 The Additions (4)
Ma’khi Jones (S, Duke) – High-floor, physical safety with ACC reps as a true freshman
CJ Richard Jr. (S, Illinois State) – Productive FCS standout with starter upside and maturity
Karson Hobbs (S, Notre Dame) – Depth gamble with length and tools, fit-dependent
Nehemiah Chandler (CB, South Alabama) – Lengthy corner with real upside, some variance
📝 Individual Grades (247 + evaluation blend)
Jones: 87
Richard: 90
Hobbs: 85
Chandler: 87
🧠 Big Picture Takeaways
Safety room was replenished quickly after key departures
Richard + Jones bring energy, toughness, and stability
Chandler adds length opposite Jabril Rawls, balancing last year’s profile
Hobbs is the swing piece — fine as depth, risky if relied on as a starter
📘 Final Grade: B
No splashy star power, but the needs were met logically. Florida State emphasized floor, competition, and experience, and retained Rawls — arguably the most important move of all.
And that’s a wrap!
That’s today’s snapshot.
Softball looks locked in.
Women’s hoops kept up momentum over the Canes.
And recruiting momentum is forming early — especially up front.
We’ll keep tracking where results meet intent — and where the next real pressure points emerge.
More tomorrow.
